    I was lucky enough to go to the bunker in the late 50s when I had a student job with Robsons the furniture store. Robsons seemed to have a contract with HMG to act as contractors for portering any of HMG sites. The bunker seemed to be still ‘active’? Our instructions (all six of us) was to wheel a Perspex screen, several yards, across the floor area.(a single child could have done this) but of course this was an HMG CONTRACT! I hope this of interest. (I also attempted, more recently, to buy a smaller bunker near Stannington. But my sealed bid was too low.
